No prior construction experience is required—just a willingness to work as part of a team and make a tangible impact. You will learn practical skills while contributing to lasting infrastructure.

Program Details
Typical tasks:
- Painting and decorating
- Basic masonry and repair work
- Assisting with carpentry
- General maintenance and renovation
- Working alongside local builders and volunteers
All work is supervised by local coordinators. Safety equipment and guidance are provided.

Accommodation
Volunteers stay in a shared volunteer house or homestay in Arusha with meals included.
Orientation
Orientation on the first Monday includes safety (including on-site), culture, and placement details. You will be escorted to the project site on your first day.
Schedule
Monday: orientation. Tuesday–Friday: construction/renovation work (typically 4–6 hours). Weekends free.
Weekends
Weekends are free to explore Arusha or join optional safaris and trips.
Location
All projects are based in and around Arusha, Tanzania—the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro and many national parks. Arusha is a vibrant city where you will experience Tanzanian culture while contributing to meaningful community and conservation work.
Arrival & Airport
Volunteers arrive on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month. You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha.
Start Dates
Programs start on the first and third Monday of each month, year-round. You can choose a duration from 1 week up to 16 weeks depending on the project.
Fees and Dates
Program fees vary by duration; see the fee table above. One-time $290 registration fee and 5% international banking fee apply. Program fees from approximately $415 for shorter stays.

- Minimum age 16 (parental consent for under 18)
- Good physical fitness
- Team player and willing to follow safety instructions
- No prior experience required
